Welcome, ladies and gents! On behalf of the entire crew, welcome aboard my life! =)

By definition, a memoir is an autobiographical description of events. Whether intended for publication or not, memoir writing is a vehicle for revisiting parts of the past and recording those events as a means of self-discovery or to preserve those memories for future generations.

What makes a memoir different from an autobio is that an autobio is a chronological description, a factual telling of an entire life, whereas a memoir focuses on his/her impressions on his/her own life. There's more creative license in a memoir. ;) It's more about the author's recollections and perceptions about details of his/her life and relationships rather than specifically recording events.
